About

A more considered matcha

Hanacha was created from a simple idea: that Japanese matcha deserves to be presented with greater care.

In a crowded market, much of the language around matcha has become loud, generic or overstated. Hanacha takes a different approach. We focus on what gives tea its depth: place, season, preparation, freshness and flavour, and present it with restraint.

Our aim is not to overwhelm with range or clutter the experience with unnecessary extras. The emphasis remains on the matcha itself: finely milled, vivid in the bowl, and chosen for its clarity, softness and character.

Hanacha is shaped by an admiration for Japanese tea culture and the quiet discipline behind it. That influence runs through everything we do, from the way the collection is curated to the way each bowl is prepared.

This is matcha approached with care, and offered simply.

Why Hanacha

Hanacha grew from a lasting pull toward Japanese culture, design and the small rituals that give ordinary life more texture. Matcha brought those threads together: craft, season, preparation, restraint.

The intention behind Hanacha is not excess, but refinement: to create a place where tea is treated properly, and where the experience of buying it feels as considered as the experience of making it.
